Reminder: Learners urged to Enter Road Safety Competition

Primary school learners in EThekwini are reminded to get their entries in for the Road Safety Poetry and Prepared Speech competition. The closing date is 30 March. They stand a chance to win a share of R30 000 in prizes sponsored by the South African Road Federation (SARF) for themselves and their school.

EThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) in partnership with (SARF) is inviting all primary schools within eThekwini Municipality including schools with special educational needs (LSEN) to enter the competition by 30 March 2024.
The competition aims to raise awareness of road safety among primary school learners. Participation is open to the learners from Grade 2 to Grade 7.  The categories of the competition include poetry for grades 2 and 3 and learners with special needs.  Grades 4 to7 will be required to prepare a speech on the road safety theme.

According to the rules of the competition, all entries must be the original work of the competitor and it must show creativity.  The speech/poetry should be digitally recorded and should be in English. The competitors that have been successful in the first level adjudication at school level, will be going through to the next level of adjudication which is the regional level ie. all schools within the municipality who have entered for the competition. The closing date for entries is 30 March 2024.
